Headwaters Rally Canceled

April 16, 2018

Walker, Minnesota (April 16, 2018)

The 2018 Headwaters Regional Rally has been canceled due to snow and ice conditions on the Stage Roads.

After consultation between the rally board and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, it was determined that the current and expected road conditions in the area were not suitable to hold a stage rally event this year. In light of that determination, Headwaters officials elected to cancel the event for this year.

“Due to the above freezing temperatures during the day, below freezing temperatures overnight, and currently remaining snow cover we agreed the rally cars would most likely do far more damage than normally expected to the roads,” said a statement from the Headwaters Organizing Committee. “Severe road damage such as this could affect use of the roads in the future. We sincerely regret the event cancellation and will work to create a fantastic 2019 regional rally.”
