Oregon Trail Adds ARA Regional Event for 2021

Portland, re. – The Oregon Trail organizing team is excited to announce the Mike Nagle Regional Rally to the 2021 calendar. The rally will be an American Rally Association West Regional Championship event and will be held on Saturday, May 22nd.

”Although we had to postpone our national event to this fall, some of our existing permits for Klickitat County allow us to put on a one-day regional event.” said Karen Jankowski, Oregon Trail Event Chair. “With so many races being canceled last year, teams are eager to get as much seat time as they can. A one-day regional also gives us a great opportunity to hone the skills of some of our volunteers before the big event in November. There are still several details to work out, but we wanted to get the word out now so competitors and volunteers can start planning for the inaugural Mike Nagle Regional Rally. We, unfortunately, won’t be able to have spectators, so the best seat in the house will be to volunteer!”

Named for one of the original founders of the Oregon Trail Rally, Mike Nagle has held many positions over the years from rally master, to stage captain and everything in between. Mike’s passion for our sport is evident in the amount of time he devotes, and he’s still involved today. When not helping with the OTR event he also helps others including Olympus, Tour de Forest, and many other rallies in the region.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our sport, and with Mike’s significant contributions, we felt naming this event after him is the perfect way to honor the volunteer spirit he epitomizes and his significant contributions to our event”, said Jankowski.

Volunteer registration will open this week and competitor registration shortly after. To keep up to date about the Mike Nagle Regional Rally or Oregon Trail Rally, visit OregonTrailRally.com, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
