Sno*Drift Regroup Report

Atlanta, Mich. ~ Three stages down, three to go on night one of Sno*Drift Rally. The teams are just about cleared out of the regroup and heading back to run through the dark of night in the opening round of the Green APU National Championship.

The main talking point during the regroup? Grip. Across the board, drivers mentioned how much better the grip was than expected. After Thursday’s rain and then heavy snow, road conditions were an unknown coming into Friday. But after three stages, competitors discussed how they were able to find traction.

Brandon Semenuk entered the regroup with a 44-second lead over Tom Williams. Jerome Mailloux sits third, 32-seconds back of Williams. Patrick Gruszka and Kyle Tilley are feeling out the new Hyundai’s, sitting fourth and fifth.

Matt Dickinson and Ele Bardha are 13-seconds apart in Limited 4WD and will shape up to be a fun battle to watch on Saturday.

Jon Kramer is leading the East Regional class and would be a combined seventh in the rally. Jimmy Pelizzari is second overall and rounds out the overall top ten.

The 2023 Green APU National Rally Championship will feature eight national rounds, starting in February and finishing in October at the Lake Superior Performance Rally. The ARA also offers up three regional championships across 21 events. To learn more about the ARA, go to https://www.americanrallyassociation.org.
