American Rally Association Presented by AMSOIL (ARA) officials are happy to announce that registration for the 2019 Subaru Rally Contingency Program is now open. The continuation of the popular initiative will see a total of over $135,000 in rewards available to competitors throughout the 2019 American Rally Association National Rally Championship season.
The Subaru Rally Contingency Program, now in its fourteenth year, is a monetary support system for independent privateer rally drivers who compete in Subaru vehicles at ARA events. The program provides discounted rally entry coupons for all Subaru owners and rewards for the top three finishers in 2015 Model Year or newer Subaru WRX and WRX STI vehicles. In total, Subaru will offer over $15,000 worth of rewards at every ARA national-level event this year.
For those teams targeting the top steps of the ARA podium, the Subaru Rally Contingency Program offers $7,000 per ARA national championship rally for the top three finishing Subaru WRX and WRX STI drivers. The winning eligible Subaru at each rally will earn $3,500, the second fastest will win $2,500, and the third $1,000.
The program also awards a one-time $5,000 New Car Build Start Bonus payment to teams who choose a late-model WRX and WRX STI chassis as the platform for their rally car build. Teams who start three 2019 ARA National Rally Championship events in an eligible newly-built vehicle will earn this bonus as a reward for turning the wheels of their Subaru in anger.
Since its inception, the Subaru Rally Contingency Program has helped drivers elevate their stage rally programs, including 2017 Restricted Open 4wd and 2018 Limited 4wd champion driver Jeff Seehorn.
“Subaru has the best support program for privateer rally teams in North America,” said Seehorn. “They really put forth a large effort to keep Subaru teams rallying and winning every year. The Subaru Rally Contingency Program has helped our team fund two championship winning seasons in a row. Without Subaru's support we wouldn't be able to compete at the level we do."
Also returning in 2019 is the most popular portion of Subaru of America’s rally support program; the entry-fee discount for Subaru drivers. The Subaru Early Entry Fee Discount gives a credit of $500 to the first ten teams that enter any Subaru in a national class at ARA championship events. The discount program also extends to regional entries, where the first ten Subaru-driving entries will receive a $300 coupon upon their rally entry.
